The Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Psychotherapy

The Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy at the Institute of Psychosexual Psychotherapy is a rigorous two-year programme delivered through 20 two-day modules. It offers a thorough grounding in psychosexual and relationship therapy integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills. The training modality is integrative in practice and pluralistic in philosophy.

In the first year, students focus on psychosexual therapy, grounded in the biopsychosocial model, learning the Masters and Johnson behavioural model, CBT, systemic, existential-experiential, narrative, emotionally focused, and mindfulness therapies. The second year incorporates relationship therapy, teaching modalities for intimate partner and couple work, including attachment, object relations, humanistic, experiential, gestalt, transpersonal and psychodynamic approaches.

The programme encourages a wide-ranging pluralistic exploration of evidence-based, established and creative approaches to support students in deepening their practice. The course is ideal for experienced therapists from any modality who want to specialise in psychosexual and relationship therapy.
