Biography

Over the last 30 years I have developed a team practice which specialises in working with individual and couples who struggle with all types of emotional, psychological, relationship and sexual issues. These include most mental health challenges, lack of self esteem and confidence, compulsive behaviours and addictions, healing from different types of trauma and life events.
We also specialise in couple counselling and relationship therapy, supporting people in partnerships trying to resolve their differences, anxieties and conflicts. These could include working with communication and self expression, exploring attachment systems, expectations, disappointments & fears, conflict resolution, affairs, separations and managing family dynamics.
We liaise closely with a range of other psychological and medical specialists, and addiction services if indicated, offering an integrated service to our clients.

Types of Therapy Used

Individual psychotherapy, relationship therapy and psychosexual therapy, using a wide range of evidence-based treatment approaches and interventions. An integrative therapy approach includes using mentalisation techniques to support other psychological therapies such as cognitive and behavioural, systemic and psychodynamic explorations,. We also use understandings from neurobiology and psychiatry to support an intervention approach.

Issues Dealt With

We deal with issues experienced within the individual or, if in a relationship, between the couple, which affect psychological and emotional well-being, including mental health problems, unresolved trauma, communication problems, compulsive behaviours, attachment and relationship issues, and sexual differences & difficulties.

Type of Client
