Biography

I am passionate about the value that therapy can offer to individuals and intimate partners navigating a complex world. I am a senior and accredited therapist, having been in practice for over ten years. In addition to my private practice work, I have worked within private therapy organisations, built and then managed a psychosexual therapy service within a charity partnership, and also worked in academia as a senior lecturer in counselling and psychotherapy. Having had the privilege of working with a multitude of clients and presenting issues throughout my career I know the value and change that therapy can bring to peoples lives.  My specialism is in sex and relationship therapy, and I work with individuals, couples and intimate partners.

What is it like to work with me?

I offer a personalised therapy approach tailored to the individual needs of each client. My aim is to build a safe and trusting environment, guiding clients through an exploration of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I also support clients in developing new skills and strategies to improve their lives, whatever this may look like for them. My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental but with a willingness to engage in supportive challenge with my clients. I strive to empower clients to make choices and changes that will lead to a more fulfilling life and working towards their desired outcomes for the work.

Therapy can be a powerful way to bring about positive change in your life, but starting the journey can sometimes feel a little daunting. Whether you have been in therapy before or not, our first session together will be an opportunity to decide if and how we would like to work together. I will explain the process, how we can work together to address your reasons for coming to therapy and I can answer any questions you may have. During the conversation we will discuss what you hope to gain from the work and any needs or issues you would like to focus on. I will provide a non-judgemental and confidential space to explore any thoughts, feelings or behaviours that you would like to address. My aim is to support you in finding a way forward that feels right for you.

I have extensive experience and qualifications in a range of therapeutic modalities,  including my specialisms in integrative psychosexual therapy and clinical supervision. In addition to my clinical work I train therapists and am a member of faculty for CICS (Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology).

I am a registered provider of psychotherapy and psychosexual therapy with a number of health insurance companies. Please get in touch to discuss whether I am registered with your insurer. I am happy to complete paperwork to also facilitate this if I am not already registered with them.
