| Biography | Why work with me? Because I’m friendly and I care, I know this intimate work can feel a bit intimidating, especially if you’ve never been to therapy before, so I do my best to make my clients feel comfortable quickly. I’m practical and goal-orientated, much of this work is us figuring out what’s going on, together (eg where and how did the pornography problem begin and why; what happened to trigger the current issue); I’m direct and directional, I may suggest going for tests or give you exercises (eg with vaginismus or erectile issues). Most importantly, I’ll give you the space to have a properly therapeutically supported opportunity to speak about whatever has been weighing on you for however long. With couples I like to help identify where and why communication may have broken down and help reconfigure using guided dialogue and coaching; and similarly where intimacy has become an issue, we begin by finding out why and then what each person wants individually because, most importantly, nobody should do anything they don’t want to do. I also work with couples in the aftermath of affairs and the subsequent distress and distrust. I’m happy to help explore and validate all sexualities, kinks and fetishes addressing any shame, confusion or distress in order to move towards self-acceptance. I work pluralistically which means using methods which work for you and your individual and unique personality and presentation; this can work particularly well for neurodivergent clients for whom therapy may have been difficult in the past. I’m ADHD and non-monogamous myself and spent too much time trying to squeeze into boxes that didn’t fit, so I get it. I encourage you to contact me for a free 20 minute “meet and greet” on Zoom for us all to decide if I’m the right person for you.
