| Biography | You’re either going round in the same arguments, or avoiding them altogether.Over time, the distance grows, and it becomes harder to feel close, understood, or connected. I work with couples who feel stuck in these patterns of conflict and disconnection. Many of the couples I work with find themselves repeating the same cycles, struggling to feel heard or understood, or experiencing a growing sense of emotional or physical distance in their relationship. Often, beneath these patterns are deeper emotional experiences shaped by earlier relationships and attachment histories. These can show up as people-pleasing, withdrawal, criticism, or difficulty expressing needs, and over time may impact intimacy, including differences in desire, loss of connection, or anxiety around sex. My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), alongside Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Schema Therapy. This allows us to understand not only what is happening between you as a couple, but also the emotional and relational patterns underneath it. In our work together, I support you to slow things down and make sense of what’s happening between you, helping each partner feel more seen, heard, and understood. As we begin to work with the underlying emotions driving these patterns, it becomes possible to respond differently, creating new ways of relating that feel safer, more connected, and more secure. I aim to provide a supportive and non-judgemental space where both partners can explore their experiences openly. Over time, this work can support clearer communication, deeper emotional connection, and a renewed sense of intimacy within your relationship.
I offer sessions in person in Derbyshire and Staffordshire, and online across the UK and Europe. |
