Therapists Profile
| Psychosexual Therapy Qualifications | 3 Year CICS Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy and Clinical Sexology |
| Biography | My name is Mia and I am a Psychosexual & Relationship Therapist and Clinical Sexologist. I work with individuals and couples on a wide range of themes around sex, sexuality and relationships.
It is my aim to create a therapeutic environment that is safe for you to bring yourself, and is responsive and supportive to who you are and what you specifically need. I like to work collaboratively with my clients, to understand what your goals and aims are for the therapeutic work, and to always check in with how the work is going and how you are feeling within the process. This is first and foremost your therapy, and whilst I bring my knowledge and perspectives, your comfort and perspectives are of upmost importance.
Ultimately, therapy is me and you sharing space together, to support you in your life, your relationship, and definitely within yourselves. I genuinely hope to be someone you feel comfortable talking to, that person that you feel you can eventually bring anything to, someone you trust, and maybe even look forward to having a session with. It is our therapeutic relationship that is the most important part of the work and I hope to foster an atmosphere that truly supports you, and helps you work through themes and grow into the best version of yourselves.
Sex and relationships can be a tricky and weighted topic to talk about and can often crystallise so many facets of life, society and emotion for us. I hope to create a space and therapeutic relationship where you feel able to bring these intimate parts of yourself, to support you in experiencing as much self compassion, understanding, joy and fulfilment in your individual and/or partnered lives.
I am a pluralistic therapist, which means I draw on a wide range of therapeutic disciplines, theories and practices in our work together. From psychodynamic, gestalt, CBT, compassion, mindful and somatic therapy, as well drawing on a great range of psychological and therapeutic theory. At the heart of pluralism is the appreciation that each person is a unique individual and what they as an individual or as partners need in therapy is completely unique to them. |
