| Biography | My name is Kim Goodwin-Wheatle, and I’m a relationship and psychosexual therapist, devoted to providing a safe, sexually affirmative space in which to support individuals and couples to address their communication and or sexual concerns. I offer therapy for couples and individuals experiencing intimacy and sexual difficulties both physical and emotional in nature. Sexual difficulties are often uncomfortable to talk about and can have a far reaching impact on other areas of life. I work with a variety of issues such as erectile reliability, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, vaginismus, chronic painful penetrative sex, anorgasmia, low desire, and sexually compulsive behaviour. I also work with couples whose issues are not sexual in nature but rather relational or communication based. My experience has been gained by working in private practice as well as with the NHS. My integrative therapeutic approach utilises theory and tools from various modalities, enabling me to provide a tailored approach best suited to you. I recognise the importance of cultural difference and diversity in the helping relationship, with respect to age, disability, gender, sexuality and ethnicity. These issues can have a significant impact on both the individual and couple because talking about sex does not always come naturally. I became a therapist because I believe that it is a privilege to bear witness to the journey of self discovery that takes place in the therapeutic setting. |
