Biography

I offer couple, individual, psychosexual therapy to individuals and couples and clinical supervision to other therapists in central London WC1 (Stations nearby include Goodge Street (6 mins), Oxford Circus (8 mins) Tottenham Court Road (8 mins), Great Portland Street (10 mins), Warren Street (11 mins). The area is within easy reach of the West End, Soho, Euston, Bloomsbury, Kings Cross and The City. ) and Kent CT5 (Whitstable, near Canterbury, Herne Bay, Faversham). I also offer sessions online to clients in the UK via Zoom.

I have many years of experience working with individuals and couples on a wide range of issues both privately, in other organisations and the NHS. I am a trained and qualified Relationship and Psychosexual Therapist and an accredited member of the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)
I take an integrative approach incorporating a number of therapeutic schools of thought, including relational, humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I would be happy to talk to you about your needs as an initial meeting which I would welcome you to attend without commitment.

My consulting rooms in central London and Whitstable, Kent are comfortable and confidential. There is parking available in Whitstable and so driving from Canterbury and the surrounds is a short trip.

I am a member of the following professional bodies and abide by their code of ethics:
British Association Of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP)
College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT – Accredited)

In addition, I work as a Clinical Supervisor offering supervision to psychotherapists and counsellors. I have a Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision.
As well as general supervision, I offer specialist supervision to counsellors and therapists working with couples, relationships and psychosexual issues.

Qualifications
MA in Counselling & Psychotherapy (2 years)
Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy (COSRT accredited – 2 years)
Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP accredited – 2 years)
Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision (1 year)
Certificate in the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy (Couples Institute, USA – 1 year)

I have trained with the Couples Institute (USA) for one year under its founder Dr Ellyn Bader Phd author of ‘In Quest For The Mythical Mate’ and ‘Tell Me No Lies’. Working with a qualified therapist can help you gain insight and control, move forward and grow. Together we can work towards solutions when you feel stuck, unhappy or are in crisis or simply want to explore an issue in your life.
The therapeutic relationship is boundaried, confidential and non-judgmental and is the basis from which I will facilitate a process for you to explore your situation and bring about change if necessary. This is done through support, empathy, challenge, analysis and interpretation. This may involve looking at the impact of your past and present circumstances. The process will increase your awareness of, and responsibility for your situation, which will give you choice and enable you to shift your situation while working through any defences and resistance to change. You will be free to explore thoughts and feelings, positive or negative, and use the relationship to explore your authentic self without danger of rejection from myself.
