| Biography | I am a seasoned Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), AAMFT Approved Supervisor, ASSECT Certified Sex Therapist/Supervisor and a IFS Certified Therapist/Approved Clinical Consultant in private practice in the Washington, DC area (DC, MD, VA). I offer a collaborative, non-pathologizing and systemic approach to therapy working with both couples and individuals. I also provide international teletherapy to overseas clients. Before transitioning to full-time private practice in 2023, I worked for the U.S. federal government for 14 years. The diversity of my experiences included active-duty military service with the U.S. Army, civil service with the United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) as well as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs where I served as a readjustment counselor and then promoted as a director first to the Washington, DC Vet Center and then to the Alexandria Vet Center. Throughout my career, I have enthusiastically welcomed many opportunities – and in many different capacities – to live and travel throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. These travels led me to meet and eventually marry my amazing Tunisian born wife to whom I owe a debt of gratitude and who has provided me with invaluable insights into our multicultural marriage and stepfamily dynamics. Ultimately, this has taught me how to become a more insightful and compassionate human being – and what I hope to be a better therapist.
