COSRT’s 2023 Autumn Conference took place on 6 October 2023 in London. It was COSRT’s first in person event in four years and also offered a hybrid option for people to join us online. Nearly 200 people attended in total.
This Conference explored supporting adult survivors of abuse, be it through personal experience or living with the consequences of abuse, aiming to draw out lessons for therapists supporting victims.
Challenges in adult life can vary be hugely varied and are often not obviously linked to a history of abuse when presented. Ways to tackle adult presentations whilst addressing earlier experiences of abuse were shared and additional needs of survivors engaged in the criminal justice system were discussed.
The day’s focus was based on numerous acknowledgements reflecting the realities of people’s lives and practitioners’ experiences.
