Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Training

COSRT accredits a range of training courses that equip students to practice as specialist Psychosexual and Relationship Therapists. Our standards are comprehensive and include requirements around equality and inclusion.

As part of our oversight, we examine how training providers address these fundamental issues. Both within course content and delivery, and in the wider contexts of policies and procedures.

It is commendable that training providers have demonstrated a robust commitment to promoting equality and inclusion. All providers of COSRT-Accredited courses are scrutinised on their implementation of relevant, high-quality policies. All courses include meaningful content and address key issues in relation to Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy. Sexuality, identity, GSRD, culture in all its expressions  are consistently tackled in a robust manner.

It is also noteworthy that providers continue to work to widen access to training. This has included the provision of courses tailored to specific groups, increasing the use of online tools, and reaching out beyond the UK to new geographies.

We recognise that it is ambitious, challenging and necessary to tackle exclusion and inequality. COSRT continues to promote good practice. And we will continue to seek opportunities for course providers to collaborate to share that where possible. COSRT considers it extremely positive that these issues are being addressed by those training the next generation of specialist therapists.
