This day will focus on the anatomical, physiological, functional and medical aspects of sexual activity in women. We will encourage interactive sessions dealing with normality and abnormality. The management of various medical conditions will also be discussed and the effects of medications on sexual functioning will be explored throughout the day.

Presented by Dr David Edwards and Trudy Hannington

David Edwards qualified in medicine at the London Hospital Medical College, then worked in hospitals in Chelmsford, Cambridge and Bristol for several years and trained as a General Practitioner in Tetbury, Gloucestershire before accepting a GP partnership in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. He has a post graduate degree in Medical Anthropology which has developed his interest in Herbal Medicine and has included a discussion with HRH The Prince of Wales. At present he combines part-time family medicine and is a Specialist in male and female Sexual Dysfunction undertaking clinics, research (on a wide range of medical conditions) advisory boards (both as a member and chair), lecturing (both locally and internationally) and writing.

Media work (mostly live presentations together with some pre-recorded) has included BBC1 (Panorama), Ch4 (Embarrassing Bodies), BBC3, BBC Radio 4 (Women’s Hour) and numerous local radio stations. He is immediate past president of the British Society of Sexual Medicine and has been on the scientific committee of several international sexual conferences. Historically, he was an ad hoc member of the NICE committee for Type 2 Diabetes, a current member of another NICE guideline committee and is a founder member of the Men’s Health Expert Policy Group which endeavours to bring men’s health issues to the notice of the Government. He is a trustee for COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists).

Trudy Hannington is the lead therapist working alongside a specialist GP (Dr Savage) at the Leger clinic in Doncaster an integrated clinic covering all sexual difficulties. This is a private clinic with contracts with the NHS. She has been the specialist for Doncaster and Bassetlaw for over 10 years, As well as being an experienced trainer presenting at local and national conferences she has developed her medical knowledge over the years in order to be able to offer a holistic approach to sexual health. Trudy has a vast experience of working in sexual health and was awarded Yorkshire Woman of Achievement in 2004.  She is an accredited member of COSRT and registered with UKCP.

Terms and Conditions: The full fee for each training day is £115 for COSRT members and £125 for non-members. Cheques should be made payable to COSRT in GB pounds sterling. Payment must be received by COSRT before the training day. Confirmation and details of your booking will be emailed to you.Cancellations must be made in writing. There is an administrative charge of £20 per person for cancellations received up to six weeks prior to the training day. Thereafter no refund is possible.
